Mountain House Breakfast Skillet: Review
On our recent trip to Oregon we were so busy we didn’t have time to make breakfast from scratch. On top of that it rained much of the time, so cooking conditions were kind of cruddy. The Mountain House Breakfast Skillet was a perfect fit for us in that situation. All we had to do was fire up our camping stove, and in less than 10 minutes we had hot pouch of hash browns, sausage, veggies and scrambled eggs. I have to say that the peppers and onions are what make it tasty. I like just a bit of zest in my eggs, and they get the job done.
Because there is basically no cleanup, we could be fueled up and back on the road in a very short period of time. You also get 14g of protein per serving, which is great. We got the best results by adding the exact (or even a little less) amount of water. No one likes runny eggs, and if you do it right you can steer clear of that. If you need something quick, or are out on the trail, the Mountain House Breakfast Skillet will definitely fill you up and get you back in the saddle.
